The University of Vienna Library and Learning Centre by Zaha Hadid Architects opened in October 2013.
The 28,000 square meter Library and Learning Centre, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, is one building in a complex of seven which makes up the new Vienna University of Economics and Business Campus. The building is a result of Zaha Hadid Architects winning an architectural competition in 2008.
The Imposing Library and Learning Centre. A distinctive feature is the large cantilevered volume which reaches out over the public square and the main entrance to the building.

The building is externally clad in Rieder glass-fibre reinforced concrete panels. Reider panels are only 13mm thick. The concrete skin pulls smoothly over the corners and edges of the façade like a skin. I particularly like the clean lines of the glass-fibre reinforced concrete panels.

The façade slopes at an angle of 35 degrees, increasing the floor plates as the building rises. The cantilever is finished in a dark colour glass-fibre reinforced concrete, while the remainder of the building is in contrasting white panels.
The interiors are as dramatic as the external envelope and following are some interior shots of the public areas within the building.
